Jane Burden married William Morris on April 26, 1859. She was 19, he 25. Jane's family came but not William's. Ned came but not Rossetti and a few of William's friends. Perhaps it was felt better for the two families to meet ? They immediately left for Dover and took a six week tour on the Continent.
