Sold from DGR's studio during an illness without his knowledge by Murray Marks to Aldam Heaton in 1872; Bought back by DGR and sold to Charles Rowley in 1876 for £210Portrait of Jane Morris seated, almost three-quarter length, holding a branch of peaches in her left hand and drawing a curtain with her right, inscribed 'SILENCE' in the the top left corner and with the artist's monogram at lower rightblack and red chalk
