Bessie Burdon

‘If a chap can’t compose an epic poem while he’s weaving tapestry he might as well shut up”

Bessie Burdon left Oxford when their Father died and went to live with Jane and William. Jane told Blunt she didn't enjoy her childhood and Jane certainly never went to the Mother's funeral. Bessie was never photographed and only occasionally pops up. William writing to Jane feeling lonely when she was with Rossetti mentions his boredom at dining with just Bessie. She did teach the two girls though and seems to have had some role at the Merton Works. Though said to be pretty (though not like Jane) I can't trace that she married or what happened to her.
